There is something irresistible about a good sheet pan recipe, aside from not having to do many dishes. Although, in this shrimp sheet pan dinner recipe, we will do things a bit differently.
Sheet pan dinners are the type of dish you can eat outside or inside. A sheet pan dinner is similar to a shrimp boil. However, everything gets cooked in one pan in this recipe, including the shrimp.
I made mussels on the stove tonight, and that will be tomorrow’s recipe. I tried to fit it in here as I served it with the sheet pan, but then this sheet pan recipe article would have been eleventy bazillion pages long.
Another great thing about sheet pan recipes is that you don’t have to cook anything else. The shrimp is filling. So is the sausage. The side dish is right there alongside the main meal.
And you’ll have leftovers for days with this recipe, depending on how many people you’re cooking for. I’m cooking for two, so we typically have a lot of leftovers.
There are tons of ways to make sheet pan dinners, including sheet pan dinners, Cajun shrimp, sheet pan chicken and potatoes, and sheet pan shrimp fajitas. While we love sheet pan chicken recipes, we can’t resist sheet pan shrimp dinners.

Everything in this recipe is satisfying. The shrimp, the asparagus, and the andouille sausage.
Different Types of Sheet Pan Dinners
Sheet pan dinners don’t have to have shrimp or any seafood for that matter. For example, there are tons of sheet pan chicken recipes on the internet, and we are all about it.
Chicken isn’t overly expensive, so another great option is sheet pan chicken and veggies.

Here are a few more types of sheet pan dinner recipes:
- Sheet pan dinners chicken
- BBQ meatloaf sheet pan dinner with potatoes
- Sheet pan chicken and potatoes (yum!)
- Greek sheet pan chicken dinner
- Sheet pan chicken with sweet potatoes and peppers
- Honey and dijon mustard chicken and veggies
- Sheet pan steak and potatoes
- Garlic butter shrimp sheet pan recipe
- Sheet pan chicken shawarma
- Pineapple chicken fajitas
- Beef fajitas
- Sheet pan nachos
- Italian sausage sheet pan dinner
- Sheet pan Asian chicken
- Balsamic chicken with potatoes and carrots
But we’re cooking shrimp with the fixings today, so we’ll get back to chicken recipes at another time. Besides, I’ve been craving shrimp lately.

Also, I’m from New Orleans, so you have to love shrimp if you’re from the Big Easy. And the Andouille sausage. Honestly, I just can’t wait for dinner.
Ingredients for a Shrimp Sheet Pan Dinner?
Are you asking, “Do I need a lot of ingredients for a shrimp sheet pan dinner?” Absolutely not.
We’ll be serving this sheet pan dinner with lemon aioli, and you probably already have most of the ingredients for the sauce.

As for the main dish in this recipe, you’ll just need shrimp, asparagus, andouille sausage, lemon, Old Bay Seasoning, and salt and pepper. That’s it. Except that I put parmesan cheese on the asparagus at the end.
And the entire dish will be sprinkled with Old Bay Seasoning, so the seasoning is shared. There is something about Old Bay on shrimp that is so satisfying.
Sheet pan recipes can’t be replaced by air fryers on Instant Pots. And it’s a fun dish. Kids love it, too. I just take the sheet pan full of seafood and asparagus and set it in the middle of the table on a trivet or potholder.
This is really a seven-ingredient sheet pan recipe if you count the salt and pepper.

Oh, and the Old Bay Seasoning. That’s what makes sheet pan dinners even more fun to make.
Oh, and the shrimp. Lots and lots of juicy jumbo shrimp.
What kind of sausage should I use in a sheet pan shrimp dinner?
Well, you can use most types of sausage. Well, not breakfast sausage;) I prefer Andouille sausage, but if there’s another type of sausage you like more, go for it. Smoked sausage would work great. Cajun sausage would work out well, too.
However, the Cajun sausage can be spicy, so if you’re not up for anything hot, then Andouille might be your preference. Andouille sausage is used in the South a lot. You can make this shrimp sheet pan dinner using any type of smoked sausage.
Or the Cajun-style Andouille sausage is very good, and it’s not overly spicy for this sheet pan recipe.
You get the idea, though. It’s your sheet pan meal, so you put in the sausage of your preference. Or, since I’m always right (and humble), you can just go with the Andouille sausage.
What sized shrimp do I need for a sheet pan dinner?
With prices the way they are, the jumbo-sized shrimp can be expensive sometimes. I went with the large shrimp for this recipe. The small shrimp won’t cut it, unfortunately. And really, the medium-sized shrimp are just too small.
If you can afford it, sure, go with the jumbo shrimp. If you’re more cautious of spending for whatever reason, then get the large shrimp as I did for this sheet pan meal.
Shrimp is just amazing. Whether you’re making the best shrimp scampi recipe, fried shrimp, or other easy shrimp recipes, however you like your shrimp, there’s no denying that shrimp is a healthy meal.
You can buy the shrimp that are already shelled and deveined if your store has that option.
Or you can just peel the shrimp yourself. It doesn’t take long. Just consider the cost and that you don’t want puny shrimp on your sheet pan dinner.
I do buy frozen shrimp, but if you can get fresh shrimp in your area, go for it!

Vegetables for sheet pan chicken or shrimp
For even more delicious flavor, try adding more veggie options in addition to the asparagus. Vegetables that are delicious in a shrimp sheet pan dinner include any of these:
- Potatoes (we LOVE sheet pan chicken and potatoes)
- Bell pepper (sheet pan shrimp fajitas, anyone?)
- Red pepper
- Red onion
- Cherry tomato
- Snap peas
How to Make a Shrimp Sheet Pan Dinner
I like to peel my shrimp ahead of time when I prep for the meal. It just gets that tedious chore out of the way.
If only shrimp could peel themselves, amirite? And then, the shrimp could throw themselves on the sheet pan.
I’m not asking for much. Well, since I’m already asking, can the sausage slice itself, please?
Weight Watchers Sheet Pan Dinner Shrimp
A Weight Watchers sheet pan shrimp dinner is the perfect meal when it comes to Weight Watchers recipes. For one thing, you can add anything you want to the sheet pan dinner and can even make sheet pan chicken dinners along with your shrimp.
Just keep in mind that shrimp cooks very quickly, and other meats will require a longer cooking time.
Tiff has made this recipe using Eckrich Turkey Sausage, and she said you could barely tell the difference between that and beef or pork sausage. Another excellent option is chicken sausage.
You can use less parmesan cheese or skip the cheese altogether to save points.
